Leftover Stirfry (2024) hand-painted 8mm film, 2min.

In collaboration with Elea van Es

‘Leftover Stirfry‘ is a moving image film painting presented in a super8 projector loop. Colorful frames fly by, uniquely detriorating with each projection cycle. This work was created using recycled super8 film material, bleached and hand painted.

As hommage to Stan Brakhage and structural filmmaking, especially his expressions in “Metaphors on Vision” :

“Imagine an eye unruled by man-made laws of perspective, an eye unprejudiced by compositional logic, an eye which does not respond to the name of everything but which must know each object encountered in life through an adventure of perception.”
