Pomegranate Kringloop (2025)

film installation
super8 color positive film, projector, bicycle wheel, organic pomegranate residue, paper

‘Pomegranate Kringloop’ is an an attempt at incorporating plant-based ingredients into color film processing, exploring haptics of cyclical motion through experimentation with mechanical projection and image .

Pomegranate-stained super8 color positive film loops around a bicycle wheel appropriated from a ‘ready-made’ piece by Marcel Duchamp and is projected onto the center of a large paper, stained with the juice while shooting the imagery on a spinning plate. aiming to evoke a sense of circularity in the viewer through visual motion illusions, the mechanical sound of the projector and scent of organic extracts used in the process diffused around the installation.
